How it works
- Select or drop
.emlfiles exported from Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail or Gmail (individual messages). - The page reads headers locally in your browser — no upload, no server, no account.
- Preview the table, then download a UTF-8 CSV that opens in Excel or Google Sheets.
Privacy by design: the conversion runs in JavaScript on your machine. Nothing is sent anywhere, so invoices, contracts and personal data stay with you.
What is inside the CSV
| Column | Source |
|---|---|
| file | original .eml filename |
| date | Date header |
| from / to | From and To headers (decoded) |
| subject | Subject header (MIME-decoded) |
| attachments | count of parts marked as attachment |
Limits
- It reads headers and the attachment count — it does not extract attachment files.
- Very large batches (10,000+ files) may be slow in a browser; split them.
- For a whole mailbox, use the IMAP script instead of one file at a time.
FAQ
Is this converter really free?
Yes. There is no account, no limit and no payment. It is a static page that runs in your browser.
Are my emails uploaded to a server?
No. The JavaScript reads the files locally. Nothing leaves your device.
Does it extract attachments?
No, it counts them. Extracting actual files needs a local script — see the IMAP export guide.
What formats are supported?
Standard .eml (RFC 822) files. Outlook .msg files are a different format and are not supported.
